Gareth John Darwin CBE FBA (born 29 June 1948 ) is a British historian and academic, who specialises in the history of the British Empire. From 1984 to 2024, he was the Beit Lecturer in Commonwealth History at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Nuffield College, Oxford.
