WebSt. Anselm (1033-1109) was born in Aosta and died in England. He was in the Benedictine monastery of Le Bec in Normandy for around thirty years. In 1093, he became the Archbishop of Canterbury and Primate of England. He is called the Father of Scholastic Theology. In his defense of the Church, he suffered much, including exile.
